If you answered yes, then this could be the role for you The role and opportunity As a Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing designs for new products, projects, and components with a leading surface blasting company. Collaboration across departments is essential, ensuring that every design meets technical requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations. Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Perform engineering analysis to assess design options, materials, and manufacturing processes Collaborate with sales managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives, including preparing layout drawings for customer approval Conduct design reviews and integrate feedback to enhance product performance and reliability Support prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure design feasibility and functionality Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), method statements, and risk assessments Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle Oversee the day-to-day management of projects Conduct site surveys as needed and liaise with customers to meet installation requirements Contribute to research and development (R&D) activities as required Our ideal candidate HNC/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role in manufacturing/engineering Proficiency in CAD software e.g., SolidWorks and AutoCAD Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work If this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, click to apply Or, if you'd like to know more, pick up the phone, call Pertemps (Leeds), and ask for Chelsea Blamire.
