Mechanical Fitter

Location: Bolton Salary: up to £35k (open to negotiation) The Role: We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter, focusing on the repair, assembly, and testing of rotating equipment. This role involves working to high standards, following company policies and procedures to ensure quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and assess rotating equipment for repair. Plan and oversee the manufacture and repair of components using the ERP system. Ensure all machining and repairs (turning, milling, grinding, polishing, lapping, etc.) meet specifications. Maintain accurate documentation and update records in line with company KPIs. Ensure cleanliness and suitability of components during assessment, repair, and assembly. Follow technical drawings, specifications, and SOPs. Identify areas for continuous improvement in processes, equipment, and safety. Contribute to the maintenance and development of workshop facilities and machinery. Requirements: Previous experience in an engineering environment (essential). Proven experience in general fitting (essential). Experience in machining (turning, milling, etc.) (preferred). Experience working with pumps and rotating equipment (preferred). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. A hands-on approach, with the ability to adapt to the demands of the business. Recognised engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3, NVQ, etc.) (essential).
