Assists radiologist and cardiologist with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic special procedures and maintains and operates equipment required to achieve the best possible radiographic diagnostic images. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESScrub Assist-Prepares and drapes patients for procedure. Maintains sterile fields; assists physician with wire and catheter insertions, and prepares and the necessary devices or systems needed to perform the proceduresProcedural Recorder-Records procedural information while monitoring patient hemodynamics and vital signs. Attends to patient's needs before, during and after procedure. Attaches EKG leads, takes blood pressure, evaluates pulses; monitors as needed, and maintains necessary logs and paperwork.X-ray System Operator-Obtains necessary angiographic images for all radiographic procedures. Prepares x­ ray equipment before procedure, determines technical factors necessary for the procedure. Positions x-ray system appropriately to attain the desired images as prescribed and specified for diagnosis by physician.Operational Support-Maintains supplies and equipment to assure smooth operations for all vascular and cardiac cath labs; keeps labs neat and organized.
