Commercial Underwriter

Job title: Commercial Underwriter Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Bonus Location: Colchester - Hybrid Purpose of role: Due to growth within the regions, our client is looking to grow their commercial underwriting team in Colchester. The role will be responsible for underwriting specialist commercial lines including property, liability and financial lines on a new and existing business basis. Key responsibilities: You'll be underwriting commercial products in line with underwriting standards Working towards set targets each month including profitability, conversion and productivity Develop your sales skills and underwriting strategy in collaboration with the wider teams Effectively negotiate with brokers and key stakeholders Underwriter the larger, more complex risks that come through the branch Experience and Skills: You'll have some experience as an underwriter within commercial lines of business A logical and analytical thinker Strong development skills Ambitious and driven, someone who can self-motivate and achieve results Ideally Diploma CII qualified or exempt through relevant experience as defined by the FCA If you have the relevant experience or know someone that does please contact us now on or email us at
