ProCare Therapy is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for the 24/25 school year near Elkins Park, PA Rate: $32/hr depending on experience Requirements Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree: Obtain a bachelors degree in special education or a related field from an accredited institution. Teacher Preparation Program: Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program that includes coursework and student teaching experiences specific to special education. Certification: Pass the Required Exams: You need to pass the Pennsylvania Educator Certification Tests (PECT) or other state-required assessments. This typically includes the PECT PreK-4, PECT K-12, or similar tests depending on the grade level and specific focus. Apply for Certification: Apply for Pennsylvania certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Youll need to submit your transcripts, proof of passing the exams, and other required documentation. Clearances: Obtain required background checks, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal FBI Criminal History Background Check.
