Job Description: Special Education Teacher Location: Michigan Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in Michigan. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional growth. This role requires strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and other educational professionals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities. Modify and adapt instructional strategies and materials to support student learning. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure consistent implementation of educational strategies. Use a variety of assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning. Address behavioral challenges using positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies. Maintain accurate records, including IEPs, progress reports, and other required documentation. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training to enhance instructional practices. Qualifications: Required Education and Licensure: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in at least one area of special education (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairments, Cognitive Impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder). pletion of the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in Special Education. Preferred Experience and Skills: Prior experience teaching students with disabilities in a school setting. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools. Strong understanding of state and federal laws governing special education, including IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Excellent organizational, munication, and interpersonal skills.
