Elementary Special Education Teacher

Job Description Job Description Minimum 1 years special education experience required. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Mokena, IL . This full-time position involves working with a K-1st grade caseload of 10 to 13 students in an elementary school setting. The teacher will be responsible for delivering individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. The position is 32.5 hours per week and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, math, and other core subjects tailored to the students learning abilities Modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure student success Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Support students social and emotional development, providing interventions as necessary Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and progress tracking Assist students in building self-regulation and communication skills Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred) Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Special Education (LBS1) Experience teaching students with special needs in an elementary setting Strong knowledge of IEP development, behavior management techniques, and differentiated instruction Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff Compassionate, patient, and flexible To apply or learn more about this opportunity, please submit an application and your current resume to: Nicole Schuler BlazerJobs nicole.schulerblazerjobs.com Phone: (813) 776-0378 Apply now
