Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Manufacturing Sector Location: On-site, near Templecombe Industry: Industrial Manufacturing Salary: 40K - 45K depending on experience A growing and forward-thinking manufacturing company is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to take charge of the maintenance and engineering operations within its production facility. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of the site, maintaining equipment and driving continuous improvement. The Role As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring machinery and equipment are well maintained, minimising downtime and implementing long-term efficiency improvements. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive problem-solver who can manage day-to-day maintenance as well as longer-term projects. You will also liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure the best engineering solutions for the business. Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of site engineering, ensuring the production facility runs efficiently. Identify and resolve equipment faults to reduce downtime and improve output. Implement preventative maintenance strategies to extend equipment lifespan. Maintain health and safety compliance across all engineering activities. Manage external contractors and suppliers, sourcing cost-effective solutions where required. Support process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technical initiatives. Maintain a well-organised workshop, ensuring essential tools and spare parts are readily available. Work closely with other departments to align engineering solutions with business goals. The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. A strong background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering. Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery. A proactive and practical approach to maintenance and problem-solving. The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work collaboratively with different teams.
