Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior/ Principal Design Engineer to join our dynamic client based in Burton upon Trent This would suit either a Senior, Lead or Principal Design Engineer looking for a new challenge The ideal candidate will have around 8 to 10 years' Design experience previously with experience designing components or products using a variety of manufacturing methods including CNC machined precision components, die cast/ casting and injection moulded plastic. Key Responsibilities: The Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will take the Design from customer concept to manufacture - working with customers, suppliers and cross functional teams The Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be leading on various product lines designing bespoke components and designs using various manufacturing methods in Solidworks Must be able and willing to travel across the UK and Globally 2-3 times a year to customers and suppliers where necessary Key Attributes: Ideally around 8 to 10 years experience in a Design role taking designs from customer ideas to manufacture Experience using Solidworks or a similar 3D CAD package such as Inventor, Creo, Catia, Solid Edge etc. Experience designing for manufacture with excellent communication skills to liaise with cross functional teams and customers Strong initiative with a team player attitude
