Senior Network Engineer - Routing & Switching

Exp : 7 years Location : Mumbai Notice Period : Immediate to 7 days only Position Summary/ Job Purpose : The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of an organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the network to support the organization's operations. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with other IT staff to troubleshoot network issues, implement network solutions, and manage network hardware and software. Job Description : - Plan, configure, and deploy network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. - Design network layouts and ensure they meet organizational needs and scalability requirements. - Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring optimal operation and minimal downtime. - Perform regular network maintenance, including hardware and software updates, to ensure network reliability and security. - Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems. - Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues reported by users. - Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs. - Monitor network traffic for potential security threats and respond to security incidents as needed. - Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures. - Prepare and present reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements. - Work closely with other IT staff to ensure network solutions integrate smoothly with other IT systems and services. - Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment and services. - Ensure network operations comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. - Stay updated on the latest network technologies and best practices to continually improve network performance and security. Candidate Requirements : Technical Expertise : - Deep understanding of advanced networking protocols TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc. - Expertise in routing and switching technologies Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc. - Strong understanding of network security concepts and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, etc.) - Experience with network virtualization technologies e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI - Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
