Job Description

Job Title: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Job Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour day shift, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: One year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience is preferred License: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI; OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); OR RRT with post-primary certification of Cardiac Interventional Radiography through ARRT Certifications: - Associate's Degree in a related field - BLS (AHA) - ACLS (AHA) - Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technologist Certification (required for Colorado-employed staff only if applicable) Must-Have: - Radiography skills - Cardiac catheterization experience - ACLS and BLS certifications Job Description: - Assist physicians in performing various specialized cardiovascular procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation (IABP), and electrophysiology studies. - Evaluate and document patient status, and respond appropriately to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Demonstrate clinical expertise and proficiency in cardiovascular procedures; exceed essential job responsibilities per department standards. - Commit to continued learning and share knowledge with patients and coworkers; display team player characteristics. - Participate in performance improvement activities to evaluate care outcomes. - Safely use equipment, and efficiently manage time, personnel, and supplies. - Adapt to changes in workload, technologies, policies, and staffing. - Maintain high skill level through participation in CQI, in-services, and ongoing education. - Provide on-call coverage outside of standard hours as required. - Recognize and act upon unusual results or patient responses to ensure safety and optimal outcomes. - Adjust approach based on patient and family understanding of procedures. - Troubleshoot and correct issues with recording instruments or patient problems. - Prioritize clinical and administrative work, and identify process improvements. - Maintain patient and department records in accordance with hospital standards. - Must be willing to float to various locations as needed within specified guidelines.
