Job Description

Job Title: CT Technologist Job Specialty: Clinical-Allied-Travel Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shift, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 hours per week Experience: One year of related experience License: Not specified Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; ACLS (AHA) preferred; PALS (AHA) preferred Must-Have: High School Diploma/G.E.D. required; Graduate of an ASATT approved program preferred Job Description: - Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department. - Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs. - Follow standards of safe radiation practice, maintaining low exposure. - Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other associate technologists. - Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and ensure current standards of practice. - Perform diagnostic imaging procedures ensuring safety for self, patients, and others. - Prepare patients for exams, providing information and instruction to patients and families. - Assist, position, and observe patients during exams; report unusual occurrences and record patient conditions. - Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources. - Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff. - Assist with patient transport as needed; perform IV starts and contrast administration. - Perform duties of other registered modalities as required; provide on-call coverage as needed. - Input charges and required data for procedures and supplies utilized. - Complete necessary hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam. - Prepare room, equipment, and exam materials as needed; maintain technical operation of equipment. - Notify service and supervisor of equipment issues, and log service calls. - Maintain clean work areas for employees and patients; perform quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation. - Engage in ongoing education, professional activities, and information sharing with staff. - Participate in department/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives. - Maintain compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards. - Contribute to ACR accreditation upon request. - Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements. - Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
