Master Subaru Technician – Job Description & Duties

As a Master Subaru Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring vehicles meet the highest safety and performance standards. You will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance while providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Expert Diagnostics & Repairs:

  • Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using manufacturer-approved tools and software.
  • Perform engine repairs, transmission repairs, drivetrain, suspension, and electrical system troubleshooting.
  • Conduct software updates, key fob programming, and advanced recalibrations as needed.

Maintenance & Service:

  • Execute all repairs and maintenance efficiently and precisely according to dealership and factory standards.
  • Perform routine services, including lube oil and filter changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements, transmission services, and state inspections.
  • Reset all vehicle oil change indicators, warning lights, and tire pressure requirements, including the spare.

Quality Control & Customer Service:

  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Communicate with service advisors regarding additional work required or any changes in repair scope.
  • Assist customers by providing technical explanations and guidance on vehicle features and maintenance.

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work closely with the parts department to obtain required components.
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of customer vehicles—ensuring settings such as radio, mirrors, seats, and climate controls remain unchanged.
  • Stay updated with manufacturer technical bulletins and training programs.
  • Supervise apprentice technicians and assist in their development.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, hazardous waste disposal, and dealership safety regulations.

Shop & Equipment Management:

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Maintain dealership tools and manuals, ensuring proper care and return after use.
  • Report any machinery malfunctions or safety concerns to management.

  • Manufacturer TrainingMust be a Subaru Master certified Technician

Compensation:

  • $120,000 - $150,000 per year
