Job Description

A bit about the Programme: Aviva is offering a paid six-month returner programme starting on Tuesday 13th May 2025, with the expectation of a permanent role at the end. Our Agile Delivery Specialist role will be offered at Aviva’s Norwich office. Aviva flexes hours and working patterns to suit its customers, business, and you. The likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office (minimum 50%) with working from home each week. We call this Smart Working, combining the benefits of flexibility with time together with colleagues. Therefore, you’ll need to be willing to relocate if you don’t currently live within reasonable commuting distance of the relevant office for the role you are applying for. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed. Your journey on the programme starts with easing you in on your first day - getting your IT Kit and meeting your Leader and Buddy. This is followed by a Programme Induction where you’ll meet the Programme Leads and the other returners joining. During this time, you’ll find out more about Aviva, the Tech & Change Delivery Returner Programme and you’ll join your first of four Career Returners Coaching Workshops. You’ll get to work (and play) with all the latest tech and be involved in some fascinating initiatives to make life better for our 19.6 million customers or colleagues. Nothing beats the buzz of seeing a project you’ve worked on save a colleague valuable time or put a smile on a customer’s face. Throughout the Programme, you’ll have a great internal and external support to help you to transition successfully back into the workplace, including a Leader, Mentor and Buddy and specialised returner coaching. A bit about the job: Change delivery at Aviva uses the most appropriate Agile delivery models including Scrum, Kanban and formal and informal scaling approaches to deliver large and/or complex change. Agile and DevOps are core to the way Aviva wants to operate including strong alignment to Systems Thinking and other modern, adaptive and team-centric approaches to delivery and operations. The Agile Delivery Specialist role supports adoption and adherence of these approaches, developing and continuously improving Agile capability and maturity in the team. Your primary purpose is to inspire teams to deliver great customer outcomes as effectively as possible with quality and innovation in line with Agile values and principles. The Agile Delivery Specialist ensures the path is clear for the team, removing blockers, facilitating discussions, enabling seamless communications and working with Technology Platform Leads and Product Owners to clarify the Product Roadmap, Vision and Backlog. Skills and experience we’re looking for: Experience of delivering IT change ideally in an Agile environment, however, if you have knowledge of different delivery approaches and software development lifecycle & processes, we’d still love to hear from you as we can provide training and development in Agile. The ability to engage across all business areas, building and facilitating relationships. With great communications skills, you’ll work well with both technical and business professionals alike in bringing complex concepts and solutions to life in a simple way that everyone can understand. A problem solving and continuous change improvement mindset with the ability to inspire individuals and teams to change and improve through Agile principles. Experience & ability to improve and optimise the flow of work across integrated technology platforms and teams. Promoting a healthy team culture, managing team dynamics and fostering a continuous improvement environment.
