Global Category Manager

Greentalent, recruiter specialized in search and selection of professionals and managers in the Energy, Engineering and Environment market, on behalf of a multinational company, leader in designing and manufacturing of highly-engineered equipment for chemical, oil&gas, and power industries, is looking for a: Global Category Manager The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar education. He/she has a previous experience in a similar role in either the Turbomachinery/Rotating field or within other Equipment Manufacturers/EPC Contractors operating in Oil&Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation markets. Implementation and execution of comprehensive strategies for category management within the assigned categories, with the goal of optimizing the total category spend while maintaining the pre-requisites of quality and delivery performance; Supply Chain optimization by supporting make or buy processes and coordinating with Sales and Operations, Supply Chain and Demand Planning areas; Suppliers scouting activity, development of new sources with the assistance of the R&D Department and monitoring of suppliers’ performance, with the aim of supporting the cost & process optimization; Management of strategic negotiations with suppliers on the approved vendor list, up to defined thresholds; Facilitate the integration between operational and strategic procurement at both global and regional levels; Establish, in collaboration with regional team leaders, tailored strategies for the local market conditions; Take part in Value Engineering and Digitalization processes by integrating supplier-generated ideas and supporting smart data base and modelling solutions. Candidate requirements: Prior experience in category management and similar positions within technical industrial corporations; Extensive knowledge of sourcing theory and practice; Solid understanding and technical knowledge in the area of mechanical auxiliaries within engineering industry set-up; Solid commercial and contractual expertise paired with strong negotiation skills; Fluent English, both spoken and written Excellent interpersonal skills.
