Distribution Services Manager

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Distribution Services Manager to join their team in Johannesburg . As a Distribution Services Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end distribution operations , ensuring seamless delivery of products to customers while optimising efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with internal teams, third-party logistics providers, and stakeholders to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer service expectations. Oversee warehouse and transportation operations , ensuring smooth product flow from manufacturing sites to distribution centers and final customers. Manage and optimize relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and transport partners. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements related to distribution and logistics. Monitor and analyze KPIs, delivery performance, and cost metrics , implementing improvement initiatives where necessary. Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and sales teams to align distribution activities with business goals. Drive the implementation of new technologies and automation in distribution processes. Lead and develop a high-performing distribution team , fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management within the FMCG industry . Strong expertise in warehouse management, transportation, and distribution operations . Proven ability to manage 3PL partnerships and drive cost-effective logistics solutions. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills . Strong leadership and people management experience. Proficiency in SAP, WMS, and other supply chain management systems .
