Backend Engineer - Python/Node.js

As a backend engineer, your primary responsibilities would be : - Design, develop and maintain features related to Cyber Deception and Active Defense capabilities of our platform. - Develop and implement components using various programming languages like Python, NodeJS, scripting and other relevant technologies. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. - Devote a good amount of time learning about new trends in cybersecurity. - Identify and troubleshoot complex issues and bugs. - Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in system design and development. The following are a must have for this role : - Engineering degree in Computer Science - 5 - 8 years of experience in backend development at product companies. - Very strong programming skills. - Good understanding of system architecture and Linux based systems. - Good theoretical knowledge of API design. - Experience building APIs with NodeJS or Python - Solid understanding of databases concepts. - Experience of database performance tuning, indexing, and stored procedures. - Good understanding of computer networking. - Good understanding of Operating Systems. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems. - Sound knowledge of distributed systems and cloud computing. - Good communication skills and an attitude to find solutions by interacting with engineers across teams. The following are an added plus. Ideal candidates will have at least a few of the following : - Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL. - Experience with Networking or Security product companies. - Hands-on experience with building systems from scratch. - Experience of working in a fast paced/startup environment. - Hands-on experience with network stacks. - Hands-on experience with encryption mechanisms. - Exposure to either Linux or Windows internals. - Additional hands-on experience with a scripting language.
