Mainframe Developer - DB2/JCL/COBOL

Position : Mainframe Developer. Location : Hyderabad, Pune, Indore. Experience : 5-8 years. Notice Period : 0-15 Days. Employment Type : Full-Time. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, IMS, and JCL. - Analyze complex technical specifications and develop efficient program logic to deliver high-quality solutions. - Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications to improve functionality and performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions. - Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. - Perform unit testing, support system integration testing, and troubleshoot defects during testing phases. - Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including code changes, workflows, and end-user guides. Mandatory Skills : - COBOL : Strong expertise in COBOL programming for mainframe systems. - DB2 : Advanced skills in writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries within DB2 databases. - IMS : Proficient in IMS databases and IMS DC for mainframe transaction processing. - JCL : Expertise in writing and debugging Job Control Language scripts. Preferred Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - In-depth understanding of mainframe architecture and system workflows. - Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under tight deadlines. - Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder and team collaboration.
