Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Colorado

Job Title: Locum Gastroenterologist Job Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Duration: 13 months Shift: 24-hour call, 5-7 days per month Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Active state license highly preferred Certifications: Board Certified Gastroenterology Must-Have: - Ability to perform ERCP and EUS - Compliance with EMR training requirements - Clean malpractice and background preferred Job Description: - Provide coverage for gaps in call and assist during locum provider breaks. - On-call shifts: 24-hour coverage, Monday through Sunday, ongoing into 2025. - Inpatient setting; Level 1 Trauma Center. - Required procedures include scoping, ERCP, EUS, endoscopy, GI bleed management, and evaluation of GI problems. - Use EMR system for documentation and patient management; training modules must be completed prior to scheduled training. - The patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and adolescents. - Consult service only, no direct admissions; daily activities include 8-10 new patient follow-ups and 5-8 scopes. - The site has 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services available. - Credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days with a possibility for emergency privileges if needed. Please note that local or drive-in candidates are highly preferred. Candidates should be ready to indicate availability starting July 2025 for the required stints and must understand the importance of completing EMR training before the start date.
