Job Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days, 3x12s from 6 AM to 6 PM with on-call duties, rotating weekends Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: State license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, RRT or CRT Must-Have: Ability to work with all populations/ages, including neonatal Job Description: - Responsible for providing respiratory therapy to neonatal to geriatric patients in a hospital setting. - Coverage across all hospital areas including Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Rehab, and Sleep Lab. - Conduct routine respiratory therapy treatments on the med/surg floor. - Assist with mechanical deliveries, neonatal delivery/c-section cases, and complicated cases. - Perform EKGs and assist with trauma stabilization until patients can be transferred out. - Handle stroke cases and participate in the care for 60 ER patients daily. - Utilize RT equipment such as Airvo, PB 840 Vent, PB 980 Vent, LVT 1200 portable vent, Hamilton G-5, V-60 Respironics, BirdBlenders. - Conduct routine tasks and handle ventilated patients until transfer. - Expected to be the sole respiratory therapist on-site during certain shifts. - Participate in team scheduling with the possibility of blocked scheduling based on need. - Rotating weekend and holiday work requirements. - Call duty consists of 12-hour on-call after the completion of a shift. - Undergo unit/department-specific orientation across three 12-hour shifts with another respiratory therapist. - Charting system utilized is Meditech.
