Job DescriptionThe Australian Financial Review is looking for a creative, innovative and well-organised Art Director to work across lifestyle and magazines. The role is primarily responsible for the art direction of the AFR’s weekly lifestyle liftout, Life & Leisure, taking ownership of visual concepts which work in print and online. Additional responsibilities include art direction for the AFR’s quarterly gloss Fin magazine. In this role you will: Work closely with the Life & Leisure and Fin Magazine editors and the editorial team to produce a quality liftout and magazine. Meet demanding weekly deadlines. Organise and direct cover shoots. Conduct extensive photo research to ensure all images are in keeping with the magazine's aesthetic. Qualifications What we would like to see: Strong print production skills, ideally with experience in magazines or lifestyle. A sophisticated eye for design and the ability to redesign pages when required. Ability to work autonomously and to deadline, within a team environment. Excellent attention to detail and adaptability. Advanced working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Additional Information We're committed to a safe, respectful and inclusive Nine.
