Senior EC&I Engineer

About the Role: On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the energy and heavy industrial sector, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join their Operations and Maintenance Support Team (OMST). This is a pivotal role for an accomplished engineer who can provide technical expertise, lead small projects, and ensure compliance across critical systems. Key Responsibilities: Deliver expert EC&I engineering support to maintenance and operations teams across multiple sites Manage small to medium-sized projects from conceptual design through to completion Oversee fault investigations, system upgrades, and ensure compliance with safety standards, including Functional Safety (BS EN 61511), cyber security, and DSEAR regulations Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop obsolescence strategies for high plant availability Mentor and manage junior and assistant engineers within the team, contributing to their professional development Requirements: Degree-qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent experience Proven experience in a 24/7 industrial environment (experience on COMAH sites is preferred) Strong working knowledge of LV/HV power systems, functional safety lifecycle management, and explosive atmospheres (ATEX/DSEAR) Experience with management of change processes and fault-finding investigations Familiarity with relevant HSE regulations and CMMS systems This is a unique chance to join an organisation that is highly regarded for its commitment to safety, innovation, and engineering excellence.
