Functional Skills Tutor

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Function Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences across a range of ability levels (Entry 1 – Level 2). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Functional Skills courses, ensuring learners are supported in achieving their personal learning goals. The role also involves providing tailored support and guidance to learners while maintaining high standards of compliance and administrative accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments to identify learners' needs, ensuring a personalised and effective learning plan. Deliver innovative, high-quality Functional Skills provision that engages and challenges learners. Provide clear learning objectives and involve learners in the planning, review, and evaluation process. Teach across a range of ability levels (Entry 1 to Level 2) to meet academic and funding criteria. Continuously assess learner development through individual learning plans to adapt teaching strategies and ensure successful outcomes. Provide general advice and guidance regarding progression routes, programme entry criteria, and learner support services. Tailor and produce relevant and motivating teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of learners. The Ideal Candidate will have: Teaching qualification (e.g., CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE). Previous experience delivering engaging and meaningful learning activities within an employment and skills context. Proven ability to meet challenging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets. Knowledge of the local labour market, sector skills gaps, and available employment and training opportunities. Excellent organisational, time management, and administrative skills. Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint. Location: Wolverhampton Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 Job Reference: SA4928
