Job Description

About the Role: As one of Australia’s largest electrical and communications contractors, Stowe is seeking an Estimating Manager to join our VIC Construction Branch. In this role, the Estimating Manager will oversee the estimating department's processes and procedures. This includes daily management of the Estimating Team to ensure that tenders are handled and submitted in alignment with Stowe Australia’s Procedures and Standards. Responsibilities: You will manage your own electrical tenders, including: Building and maintaining face-to-face customer relationships with consulting engineers, architects, regulatory authorities, suppliers, and subcontractors. Taking delegated authority and organizing or leading work teams. Identifying efficient methods for task execution and assigning the best-skilled personnel. Recognizing changes/variations to specified works in conjunction with the Engineering Team. Developing quotations and keeping clients informed. Assisting various project and service groups as required. Maintaining clear communication with clients and team members. Delivering tenders/jobs on time, meeting client requirements and expectations. In addition to your responsibilities, you will support the estimating team by: Overseeing the coordination of the bidding process with the estimating team and other business units, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the tender. Reviewing tenders with clients to discuss service options and project objectives. Supporting the estimating team in preparing accurate tenders from conceptual and schematic design phases to final estimates. Ensuring timely preparedness of estimates for management review according to client submission requirements. Assisting in compliance with Stowe’s estimating processes and maintaining database systems like Autodesk Construction Cloud, ConEst, and Salesforce. Mentoring the estimating team on process obstacles and concerns, providing timely support for project success. Supporting ongoing tender and cost changes to maintain competitiveness. Building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and internal teams for current and future project success. Education, Skills, and Experience Needed: Proven experience in electrical estimating within an electrical contracting organization. Proven Experience in managing and engaging with a team Strong data and cost analysis skills for accurate quote and proposal formulation. Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation related to electrical design and construction standards. Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoDesk Construction Cloud, ConEst, and Salesforce is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with diverse stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities for managing multiple tenders accurately. Leadership and mentoring skills, along with a customer-focused approach. Adaptability to change and a strong work ethic to excel in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated Experience in: The electrical and communications contracting industry. Tendering for electrical and communications projects. Developing estimates, budgets, and financial reports. Understanding contracts and tender processes for major projects. Formal Education/Qualifications: Formal qualifications in Engineering or Project Management (preferred). Current Open Electrical License (preferred). Driver's License.
