About the role This role is a senior strategic analyst responsible for planning, developing and producing intelligence outcomes through strategic intelligence products. Focused on the production of value-added intelligence product as a result of the collection, evaluation and analysis of information, this role works closely with other intelligence professionals to drive strategic intelligence outputs designed to harden the environment against TSOC threats and product unique criminal intelligence advice to a range of partners. Senior strategic analysts will also be required to line manage a team of strategic analysts and help build their capability and understanding of the whole of government operating environment. The key duties of the position include: Develop high quality strategic intelligence outputs at the direction of Director National Strategic Intelligence and senior executive staff of ACIC, including analytical products and activities, formal and informal briefings, and a range of other deliverables contributing to national understanding of the strategic criminal threat environment. Lead a team of strategic analysts, including oversight and support of their strategic intelligence outputs, professional development and administrative needs. Represent ACIC’s strategic intelligence capability at a range of internal and external forums. Our ideal candidate To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes: Demonstrates leadership skills and has experience leading teams of analysts, or overseeing and developing less experienced staff. Has experience overseeing the development of a variety of strategic analytical products to a high standard, ensuring assessments are accurate and timely. Has demonstrated experience supporting inter-disciplinary and inter-agency liaison to maintain productive networks and to promote information sharing, partnerships and common understanding about the value of strategic intelligence. Solves complex problems, makes assessments and derives unique judgements. Is able to maintain an awareness of the serious and organised crime environment and factors which may impact its trajectory, to identify priorities, including new and emerging threats and nationally-significant criminal activity. Has well-developed knowledge and experience in data interrogation, research and threat assessment methodologies, with a proven ability to undertake complex analysis. Essential qualifications Intelligence analysts at this level will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an intelligence role or a strategy development role. Can demonstrate line management experience, including the ability to build analytical capability. Eligibility Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen. Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
