We are looking for a passionate therapist to join our team at Derrimut, Victoria where you would be part of a growing interdisciplinary team with a speech therapist, a behaviour therapist, a therapy assistant and admin staff. Location: Derrimut, Victoria SLCN therapy is an allied health organisation committed to delivering evidence-based early intervention and therapy services to children 0-18 years of age and their families. We offer you the chance to start as a therapist in a small practice with lots of support and room to hone your skills. SLCN therapy provides additional professional leave days on top of your annual leave; a professional development budget for each therapist; and regular mentoring. You have the opportunity for flexible working hours , offering permanent part-time or permanent full-time employment. Our flexible working hours include five 8 hour days morning, day, or afternoon hours or four 10 hour days. We also have regular paid social days where lunch and activities are on us The Opportunity: Providing early intervention and therapy services to support children and families to maximize their independence and participation, you will take responsibility to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy based on an individual’s sensory, cognitive and physical needs in collaboration with the individuals, families and relevant others. This includes: Conducting standardised clinical assessments to determine goals/areas of needs. Assessing and guiding developmental goals for children identified on the autism spectrum or with developmental delay in both a group and individual settings at our Derrimut clinic, home visits, school visits, or online via Zoom. Providing information, education and support to clients and families to support informed decision making on priorities for intervention. Developing functional, routine-based goals with clients and families. Providing therapy interventions and resources to clients and families that match evidence-based practice to individual/family goals, values and preferences for service provision. Administer early intervention therapy Reviewing progress formally in collaboration with individuals and families to celebrate achievement, obtain feedback on services provided and set new priorities. Provide therapy interventions and supports in collaboration with others, particularly parent coaching and everyday routines and activities-based therapy Providing evidence informed therapy services to clients and NDIS participants building on family/client strengths, needs and priorities. Support inclusion and participation for clients in community activities of their choice. Work closely with key stakeholders and ensure ongoing communication, leadership and support are provided to deliver quality services and supports. Ensure a focus on continuous improvement through regular evaluation, training and review. What do you need to join? Tertiary qualifications with current registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body; Passion for making a difference with a focus on making therapy fun, engaging and meaningful for families Possess the ability to provide support and offer knowledge of therapeutic interventions to children, young people and parents; Experience in completing assessments and therapy for children and adolescents; Compliance – registration, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, NDIS workers screening check, Covid-19 vaccination certificate or exemption, First Aid Training, Driver’s Licence & Vehicle.
