Job Description
The key duties of the position include: The Role The Command Support Branch is seeking a Web Manager to oversee the VCDF Group’s web presence. In this role, you will work with a lot of autonomy, be the first point of contact for web support requests from stakeholders, providing timely and effective solutions. You will lead the creation, editing, and management of website content to enhance user experience and align with organisational goals. Key responsibilities include maintaining high-quality web content, ensuring compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and using various digital tools for content management and analytics. You will collaborate closely with Defence stakeholders to prioritise tasks, manage support requests, and deliver user-focused web solutions. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation’s digital presence through innovation and continuous improvement. About our Team The Command Support Branch provides high-level support to the CDF and VCDF, by directing and coordinating Group operations across a range of functions. The Command Support Branch works closely with the Divisions within VCDF Group and the other Groups and Services within Defence to contribute to VCDF and Defence-wide outcomes. The Business Management team works closely with other Command Support Branch teams and the broader VCDF Divisions. The team is responsible for providing administrative coordination and support for VCDF including the management of submissions to various committees. The team also comprises of ministerial and parliamentary functions, workforce and finance functions, records and web management. Our Ideal Candidate Applicant will need to demonstrate: Examples of being highly motivated, administrative and organisational abilities and excellent time management. Experience with Commonwealth website design (Drupal) and troubleshooting or happy to undertake the required training. Working knowledge of Content Management Systems (SharePoint, Drupal). An ability to undertake web publishing, content design and managing web support requests. An ability to manage site content, including new content, editing and auditing existing content, removing outdated content. Ability to apply Enterprise Web Directorate standards or ability to apply similar standards. Ability to innovate positively to improve the Defence web environment and primary internal communication channel. An ability to publish and quality assure web content in compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset to establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders. Ability to work with reasonable autonomy and accountability achievements and outcomes. Eligibility Security Clearance Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance of 'Negative Vetting 1'.
