Full Time, Ongoing $78,564 - $107,995 Per Year Plus Super Based onsite at Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla (Close to Wodonga) Deliver hands-on engineering and welding training to Defence students. Qualified Boilermaker with experience in heavy aluminium MIG welding Great work/life balance, Fitness passport, childcare discount, supportive culture ABOUT THE ROLE We’re seeking someone with extensive experience in engineering, especially in aluminium MIG welding and experience in welding quench and tempered materials. Wodonga TAFE is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Engineering/ Welding Teacher to inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers as part of our Defence Contract based at Latchford Barracks in Bonegilla. As an Engineering Teacher at Wodonga TAFE, you’ll play a key role in preparing Defence students for successful careers in the Defence sector. You’ll work with established technologies and practical equipment, providing hands-on, industry-relevant training to ensure our graduates are job-ready. This will include skills such as MIG welding of Aluminium (6mm and above) and welding of quenched and tempered steels, which are key distinctions from a standard SP requirement. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with Defence organisations, ensuring our curriculum aligns with national priorities. Selected Duties: Deliver theory and practical lessons. Preparation of courses. Conduct teaching programs within Engineering / Welding related areas. Customise units and courses to meet students’ needs. Coordinate student’ resources. Experience in 1) MIG welding of Aluminium 6mm plus and 2) welding quench and tempered materials An academic or trade qualification in the field of Engineering and demonstrated work experience You are required to maintain a current Teaching qualification in accordance with the Victorian TAFE Association or a willingness to obtain. Pre employment medical required.
