About us: The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand. About the opportunity: As part of the Training and Assessment team, the Team Lead - Training will manage the Training team with 6 direct reports. The role will: Oversee training processes and the training life-cycle, to ensure effective delivery of the training programs and a seamless experience for trainees Provide leadership guidance, direction and support to staff within the training team Conduct regular data quality checks and develop communications to improve data quality Oversee process reviews and implementation Oversee trainee application processes Contribute and participate in college projects impacting on training, assessment and accreditation Oversee the trainee support process and trainee performance review process Provide additional support to the Training team during periods of staff leave. This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Manager, Anaesthesia Training Program. About the team: The T&A Unit operates within the education department and delivers training support services. This unit supports the training program delivery for Anaesthesia, Diving and Hyperbaric medicine and the Rural Generalist Anaesthesia programs and facilitates the hospital site accreditation process for the college. Keys to your success: The ideal candidate will be a people person, with prior leadership experience. Previous experience in a medical college, healthcare experience and/or knowledge of medical training would be ideal. You would be someone who has worked in education in a project or program manager role, with strong communication, planning, organisational skills and attention to detail. Specifically, you will have: Essential: Completion of an associated diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training Significant experience in a senior administrative position gained in a professional environment that has involved experience in staff supervision and process management. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to review and identify opportunities for improvement Strong analytical and logic skills, the ability to interpret and present complex data and information including the interpretation of regulations Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Well-developed change management, planning and organising skills, the ability to manage complex and involved processes and systems Highly developed time-management skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure, juggle conflicting priorities and deliver to tight timeframes Meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to relate effectively and facilitate appropriate liaison with a diverse range of professionals The ability to lead a team and work collaboratively as part of a team. Strong written communication skills, the ability to prepare professional, accurate and concise reports and correspondence Aptitude to learn and use the in-house database system such as the Customer Relationship Management and the Training Portfolio Systems Desirable Experience in a post-secondary education administration position would be highly regarded Knowledge and understanding of Training and Assessment in a medical college.
