Solicitor Advocate Opportunity An exciting opening has arisen at Emma Turnbull Lawyers as we prepare to farewell a valued team member to the Bar in March. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Solicitor Advocate to join our dynamic criminal law team. This role is open to both graduate lawyers seeking structured training and experienced advocates looking to expand their practice in indictable crime. As a Solicitor Advocate, you will represent clients in court, negotiate on their behalf, and work closely with custody clients, ensuring their wellbeing throughout the legal process. You'll collaborate with counsel, expert witnesses, and our supportive team to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in court proceedings, including pre-hearing preparations and negotiations. Engage in legal research and advocacy training to refine and enhance your skills. Work independently while contributing to our close-knit, collaborative team. Build and maintain strong client relationships and seek out new business opportunities. Collaborate with expert witnesses and counsel to ensure thorough client representation. Desired Skills & Qualifications: Open to advocates at any experience level, from junior solicitors to seasoned practitioners. Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to justice and passionate client advocacy. A sense of humor and positive, can-do attitude are essential.
