We are focused, innovative and have built long term partnerships where we can deliver ongoing value to the customers that we work with.We are expanding our creative team and are seeking the right person to join our team designing packaging and product that will be on the shelves of Australia’s largest retailers. Working directly with the Design Manager you’ll have opportunities to work on a wide range of products and be involved in an exciting and dynamic business. What we’re looking for:We’re looking for a highly creative, motivated and energetic designer who lives and breathes design and has a keen interest in trending homewares and lifestyle products. You have a good eye for typography, colour and materials, and can work collaboratively with our product development and sales teams to provide design solutions at a high level in a timely manner. You can execute conceptual work and have a specific interest in packaging design and creating finished artwork to a high standard. Ideally, you’ll have a year or two of experience but if you’re a graduate who has a good design eye, a positive attitude and a passion for what you do, then this could be your dream role. What you’ll need to bring:- A team player willing to work collaboratively to achieve team goals- Relevant qualifications and industry experience - Effective communication skills both verbally and written- Strong packaging interest – an understanding of the print process and the ability to visualise the 3D form- Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Mac) – you know illustrator and photoshop like they’re family- Have good design principles, typography, colour theory and layout composition- High level attention to detail and take pride in accuracy in your file set up and management- Creative problem solving skills and an adaptable attitude- Good time management skills - you can multi-task and work to tight deadlines- A friendly can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members- You can follow instructions when you need to and improve processes when you can- You know your CMYK, RGB and PMS, and when to overprint- Online marketing and/or web-design skills will be highly regarded What you’ll get at UGT:UGT is a high-spirited environment with a flat operational structure where the right attitude will deliver your success.
