Job Description
Natural Area Consulting Management Services (Natural Area) are currently taking applications for full time Environmental Field Technicians . We also have opportunities for Senior Environmental Field Technicians, Environmental Team Leaders and Horticulturalists with relevant industry experience. This position will join either one of our Environmental Field teams based at Beeliar , Whiteman or Malaga. Our Environmental Field Technicians are part of a large and diverse on-ground field team that primarily deliver on ground environmental management including; weed control (including herbicide use), revegetation, erosion control, fire fuel load reduction to clients throughout the Perth Metropolitan Region, as well as other regional areas throughout Western Australia. For team members with the right work ethic, qualifications and licences, career progression options are available to lead conservation projects and manage teams. There is no option to work from home in this 100% field based position. Natural Area has additional specialist teams dedicated to native seed collection, horticulture, vertebrate pest management, environmental consulting and civil environmental projects. If you answer yes to the following then you could be great for our team: Available for full time work, Mon-Fri with 7am starts. Completed Conservation/Horticultural/Environmental Science or Environmental Management qualification (not marine based). Have reliable personal transport and a WA Drivers Licence. Attention to detail, genuine care and passion for the environment. Physically fit, self-motivated and able to function in an outdoors team environment. Punctual and reliable. An Australian or NZ resident/citizen, with accommodation in Perth. Additionally, applicants with the following attributes will be considered favourably: Knowledge of and ability to identify Perth bushland plants and weeds. Knowledge of weed control and native revegetation planting techniques. Experience with small motors (i.e. chainsaw and brushcutter) and using 2-stroke fuel. The following licences and qualifications are required as part of pre-employment: WA Drivers Licence. Current First Aid. Police clearance. White Card. Pesticide Licence medical and completed application form. Part of the recruitment process may include a pre-employment functional assessment to determine final suitability.
