The Opportunity Albany Creek Retirement Village is a friendly and vibrant retirement village, home to 380 independent living units & apartments. Working closely with your small team of hospitality staff and residents, you will lead the kitchen and restaurant to success by providing exquisite lunch & dinner services, catering options and ideas for functions. As our new Chef Manager, you will have a positive rapport with restaurant guests & residents, enjoy being hands-on in prepping meals, understand food safety principles and ensure sufficient supplies of goods & ingredients. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for food, your team and the residents This is a permanent full-time position working Monday-Friday 8-4pm. Flexibility required on special events or function nights (e.g until 8pm) What We Offer Paid Parental Leave and Purchased Annual Leave optionsTwo (2) additional 'All About Me' leave days per calendar yearAnnual salary reviews and annual bonus incentive scheme Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance ProgramDiscounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providersOpportunities for further career progressionBe part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living community You will: Be responsible for all kitchen and dining operations - overseeing daily lunch & dinner services, providing guidance to your team and creating fresh ideas to boost revenueWork closely with your food & beverage team to deliver great service, ensure restaurant nights are running smoothly and work with residents when they wish to host functions (e.g Melbourne Cup, Ladies Lunches etc)Monitor food safety checklists, compliance checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S policiesComplete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendmentsComplete staff rostering, manage development & hiring and ensure your team deliver outstanding service to residentsFollowing up on day-to-day operational issues including maintenance, cleaning and performance issues What you'll bring: Experience in a casual dining kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs)Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering, hiring and admin experience)Current Police Check clearance and minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required) Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
