Roster: Monday to Friday 7.15 to 3.15 pm What This Role Involves: We are seeking a passionate and customer-focused Barista / Food Preparation Specialist to join our café team at a prestigious girls' school. The ideal candidate will have a flair for delivering exceptional coffee, food, and customer service while staying up-to-date with the latest coffee art trends and food preparation techniques. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires a friendly and can-do attitude, with the ability to work well within a team environment and go the extra mile to ensure an outstanding experience for our school community. Key Responsibilities: • Coffee Preparation & Art: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages with precision and attention to detail. Stay up-to-date with the latest coffee art trends, ensuring visually appealing drinks and offering new and innovative options for our customers. Maintain consistent quality in every cup, creating an inviting and pleasant experience for students, staff, and visitors. • Food Preparation & Presentation: Assist in the preparation of a variety of fresh, nutritious, and appealing food options, including sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and snacks. Ensure food is presented attractively and complies with school health and safety standards. • Customer Service: Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to all customers, with a focus on building positive relationships. Maintain an approachable demeanor, offering suggestions and engaging with customers to enhance their café experience. Handle customer inquiries and feedback with a positive attitude, always striving to exceed expectations. • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure smooth and efficient café operations. Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment. Take on additional tasks or duties as needed to support the café's success. • Personal Presentation & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, professional appearance in line with school standards and food safety regulations. Follow hygiene protocols and food safety guidelines at all times. Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a barista, food preparer, or in a similar customer service role. Knowledge of current coffee trends, coffee art, and beverage preparation techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and politely with a diverse range of people. Strong attention to detail, especially in coffee presentation and food preparation. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to go above and beyond to provide excellent service and ensure customer satisfaction. Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Desirable Attributes: Passion for coffee culture and continuous learning. Ability to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff. Flexibility and adaptability in handling varying tasks and customer demands. Skills and Experiences: Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses required for the position Food Safety Supervisor The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience in high-volume, School tuckshop experience Current RSA certificate (advantage) Barista experience/qualification (advantage) Punctuality & reliability Access to your own reliable transport (essential) Why Join Us?
