About the opportunity The Digital Solutions Section is responsible for providing and maintaining the ICT applications that support the department's objectives and strategic directions. The Test Manager role in the Quality Assurance and Test Team is responsible for the ongoing management and development of test artefacts and the quality assurance of applications across the CASA network. This position reports to the Section Manager and works closely with a range of CASA stakeholders to deliver the ITB’s goals. The Test Team Leader working independently with limited direction from the Section Manager will lead the following testing processes: Preparing test estimations and schedules for the testing activities for projects. Preparing and maintaining test strategies, test plans, test design, traceability matrix, test cases and defect reports. Leading the review and improvement of current quality assurance practices. Developing, maintaining and executing tests scripts. Mentoring and coaching new team members in their day-to-day work. Managing relationships with internal and external clients to drive the delivery of CASA goals. Communicating complex technical and non-technical issues with clients and negotiate outcomes. Promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace, and acting in accordance with the CASA Values and Behaviours. Engaging and working supportively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner to achieve shared outcomes. As a leader, support CASA to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture, including psychosocial wellbeing, in the workplace and to consult with workers and others when making decisions that may impact upon the health, safety and wellbeing of those in the workplace. As an employee, contribute to maintaining a positive health and safety culture at CASA, including psychosocial wellbeing in the workplace and will provide my input, where appropriate, to decisions that may impact upon my health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace. The key duties of the position include: Our Ideal Candidate Tertiary accredited qualifications in a relevant ICT discipline with experience in an ICT technical role. Experience using Azure DevOps (or similar ALM/Test management tool) Experience of testing practices and processes in agile and waterfall project environment. International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Testing Certificates – eg Agile Certification, Technical testing or similar accreditations. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and test automation tools. Experience working cooperatively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders with a proven track record of meeting project deliverables using agile methodologies. Highly developed written and oral communication skills, particularly in discussing technical matters with non-technical people. Eligibility Eligibility requirements Employment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The following eligibility requirements apply to this position: At minimum, prospective CASA employees must undergo pre-employment screening. You must be willing to provide required information to successfully undergo a police record check. Must be an Australian citizen. Currently holds a Commonwealth security clearance to Baseline or have the ability to obtain and hold a clearance at this level.
