The project is in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia Role Overview The Construction Director will oversee all construction activities for a major Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) project, ensuring the successful execution of water infrastructure elements in highly densely populated urban metropolitan areas, including pipelines, pumping stations, and tanks. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of construction management within the water infrastructure domain and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a PMC setting. The Construction Director will ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and direction for all construction activities related to the TSE project, including water transmission pipelines, pumping stations, and tanks. Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Oversee the execution of construction activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of construction activities within the overall project framework. Lead site management efforts, including contractor supervision, site inspections, and resolving on-site challenges to maintain progress and quality. Monitor construction progress and performance metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management and stakeholders. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental guidelines throughout all phases of construction. Manage contractor relationships, including evaluating performance, approving payments, and ensuring contractual compliance. Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning, addressing potential delays or issues to minimize disruptions to the project timeline. Provide mentorship and leadership to the construction team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or related fields) with over 20 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects, OR Master of Science (MSc) in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or related fields) with over 15 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects. Degree from Western accredited University. Membership of chartered institutions. Expertise in the construction of water transmission pipelines, pumping stations, and tanks. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects in a PMC environment. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the construction of Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) systems. Experience in the construction of water infrastructure projects. Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards for water infrastructure projects.
