Classification: APS 5Location: Canberra - ACTSalary: $84,485 - $93,700 The Role Austrade’s Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS) section within the Ministerial and Policy Branch is looking for a motivated and dynamic Ministerial and Parliamentary advisor. The MaPS section provides a central point of coordination and strategic oversight of Austrade’s interaction with its portfolio Ministers, their offices, Parliamentary Committees and Cabinet. The team closely supports the agency’s executives and, through our quality assurance processes, ensures documents prepared by Austrade are of the highest standard and comply with our agency and ministerial style preferences. The roles of team members are broadly defined with the successful candidate involved in all aspects of Parliamentary work. DUTIES INCLUDE Responsibilities The Ministerial and Parliamentary Advisor will manage the day-to-day support and coordination of requests received from portfolio ministers’ offices and other agencies. They will be responsible for: Coordinating processing of ministerial briefs, correspondence and submissions – including registering in Austrade’s Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS). Liaison with drafts, monitoring to ensure timeframes are met and quality assurance of final products. Provide support and guidance for Austrade staff in relation to ministerial processes including PDMS system support. Assist in the preparation of Ministerial reports to provide portfolio Ministers’ offices and Austrade’s Executive with visibility of ministerial items/workload. Provide Minister’s office support services. Undertake other tasks associated with the responsibilities of the team as needed. Other Duties May Include Assist with coordination of other Ministerial documents (including Question Time Briefs, Parliamentary Questions, Senate Estimates Briefs and Estimates Questions on Notice). Back-up support to Austrade’s Cabinet Liaison Officer (CLO) function, including coordination Cabinet documents within Austrade, providing guidance to Austrade staff in relation to Cabinet matters, and Cabnet administration and support.
