Automation and Optimisation Specialist - Moorebank

About us MoRDC, located in Moorebank is the latest distribution centre being added to the Primary Connect Network. The 84,000 sqm facility will strengthen Primary Connect's NSW supply chain and service more than 350 Woolworths Supermarkets, with over 9,000 product lines. We will be partnering with Vanderlande, who are a market-leading, global partner for process automation in the warehousing industry. What you will do Collaborate with operational teams to drive ongoing improvement and develop optimisation strategies. Act as the technical subject matter expert for the automated material handling system's logic, controls, and flow. Utilise data analytics, AI, and simulation models to predict system behaviour and facilitate informed decision-making. Lead process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to streamline operations. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Ensure automation activities perform according to their capabilities and throughput requirements. What you'll bring Experience in process engineering, automation optimisation, or continuous improvement, preferably in automated distribution centres or manufacturing environments Experience with automation systems and suppliers (e.g., Vanderlande, Dematic, Schaefer, Swisslog, Knapp, or Witron). Experience in applying AI/Machine Learning/Machine Vision techniques to optimise automation systems. Proven ability to identify, develop and implement improvement projects in automated systems. Strong knowledge of Continuous Improvement/Lean principles, methodologies, and tools. Experience in either FMCG, Automated Distribution or Manufacturing essential. Execute planning activities (tactical and operational) to meet throughput needs.
