Job Description
The position is based in Brisbane, with the option to work from a regional office under a Flexible Work Arrangement. If based in a regional office, regular travel to the Brisbane office will be required (frequency to be determined with the successful candidate) to support operational needs. Key Outcomes and Accountabilities: The aim of this role is to: Conduct and coordinate research, analysis and review of legislative, regulatory and associated policy, planning and economic issues to make recommendations in relation to preferred solutions related to the QBCC Regulatory Academy. Partner with regulatory services units to embed regulatory craft in its policies and procedures, to develop, prepare and review new policies, procedures, guidelines and supporting information to support Collaborate with the broader QBCC Regulatory Academy and across the Division to support the development of training methods and content to ensure that staff are adequately supported to Establish and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective coordination, development, and delivery of regulatory policies and procedures. Provide robust and high-level advice to support senior management with operational policy and related regulatory service innovation opportunities. Take a customer-centric approach in designing and delivering learning and development solutions and apply a collaborative approach to your program of work, across your business unit, and broader organisational regulatory services units. Candidate Attributes: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, including experience in: interpreting legislation strategic policy writing including developing and implementing policy governance and operational frameworks to support consistency, capability uplift and efficiencies in a regulatory services environment providing input and recommendations for the development of policy and procedures and identifying business process improvements and innovation to achieve results. Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders, understand and give effect to operational requirements, and persuasively communicate strategy, policy, and legal requirements. Experience in the preparation of a range of high-quality documents that reflect critical thinking, suit the audience, and are fit for purpose, preferably in relation to operational policy and procedure writing and/or regulatory implementation. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and achievement of team objectives, including careful planning and organisation, and proactively identifying risks and taking appropriate steps to mitigate those risks. Demonstrated accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, transparency, and acting on insights into their own personal strengths and areas for Whilst not mandatory requirement, tertiary qualifications related to law or public policy will be highly regarded.
