Full Time / Casual Hospitality Food and Beverage Trainer

About the business Short Courses Australia was founded with the aim of providing the community with access to affordable, yet high quality hospitality courses across Victoria. The organisation has a wonderfully experienced management team and VET staff who seek to provide flexible, high quality, engaging and compliant training and assessment solutions for business and throughout the community. About the role Short Courses Australia requires experienced and qualified trainers within the Hospitality Food & Beverage sector , to join our team. In these dynamic and newly created roles the successful applicant/s will be training our existing list of clients within our JOB CAMP and VCE programs at secondary schools and industry, across Melbourne & Regional Victoria, including campus based courses. The right person for this role will : Have current experience training and assessing units of competence from the Certificate III in Hospitality and Certificate III In Commercial Cookery; Have experience in managing a hospitality business, including staff recruitment, training and mentoring support; Have experience in the training and employment of apprentices and trainees; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; A high level of discretion, empathy, accountability and professionalism; Effective time management and is highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands; A preparedness to travel; Drivers license. The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks: Training and assessing students in hospitality units of competence; Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork; Mentor students on performance, provide feedback and training of core hospitality skills; Reporting The role will report to the General Manager and Senior Trainer who will allocate tasks and provide training in the role on a day to day basis. Previous experience, qualifications, and personal attributes: 5 -10 years plus experience hospitality venue management; Hold a a current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment; Hold currency in hospitality vocational competencies; Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team Player The successful applicant/s will be offered extensive training and development to perform this role. Fulltime position not for you, we have multiple roles on a casual contract basis as well.
