Job Description

RoadTek is a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. This means we value respect, safety, diversity, and inclusion In this dynamic role, you will be required to meet all objectives throughout the phases of the projects, with your responsibilities including: • Develop and manage the delivery the survey program, ensure maintenance of the spatial information memory and provide expert professional, technical and administrative advice. • Lead and manage the delivery of the construction survey program and resources. • Source and maintain an adequate program of works to ensure business sustainability and continuity. • Prepare and manage briefs and specifications, call tenders, evaluate offers and award contracts, and contract manage spatial projects. • Review and report on the appropriateness of survey information given on plans for the setting out of works and land acquisitions. • As a member of the Spatial Sciences Occupation Group, provide leadership, coordination of business activities and direction to develop the Spatial Sciences discipline of Transport and Main Roads. • Work in collaboration with other sections of Transport and Main Roads in the Spatial Sciences field. Mandatory qualifications and conditions • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. • A minimum 3-year degree in Surveying from a recognised tertiary institution, or a qualification that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ). • Registration as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ). • Current holder of a 'C' class driver's licence. • A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the State to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel. Desirable qualifications • Engineering and/or Cadastral Endorsement with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) or the ability to acquire. • National Engineering Certification as an Accredited Engineering Surveyor with the Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA). You will support others in understanding the strengths and biases in decision-making, implement development plans to address skill gaps, and empower the team to take ownership of outcomes.
