Chief Legal Advisor London Local Authority Permanent Contract £78,849 - £86,767 Sellick Partnership are delighted to be working with a well-established local authority in London in their search for Chief Legal Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires someone who can work full-time and attend the office as much as possible (at least 2-3 days per week). The responsibilities of the successful Chief Legal Advisor will be to: Manage a busy team with diverse legal specialisms Advise senior client officers and elected members Discharging Monitoring Officer responsibilities Directly reporting into the Assistant Director of Legal and Governance and Director of Legal and Governance Motivate and help develop the team Our client is seeking a Chief Legal Advisor who: Holds a current practicing certificate (Barrister, Solicitor or CILEx) Experience from a local authority background The ability to work at pace and juggle competing priorities Has legal practice management experience Dealt with governance matters previously Can attend the offices as and when necessary (usually around 2 – 3 days per week) Selling points: Competitive pay Reputable team within a well-structured local authority Excellent career development opportunity Friendly, close-nit team Efficient and forward-thinking senior management team Positive and equal work environment Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Good IT systems and processes We are open to applicants from any area of law as long as you have the relevant management experience.
