Seeking an In-House Accountant with QuickBooks/Xero Expertise – Milton Keynes.

We’re looking for an in-house Accountant to join our Milton Keynes office and help us maintain our financial health as we continue to expand. Key Responsibilities Financial Management Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly reporting Maintain organized financial records using QuickBooks or Xero Budgeting & Forecasting Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide strategic planning and resource allocation Monitor performance against budgets, identifying opportunities and risks in real time Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with all UK financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal control policies Manage audits and liaise with external stakeholders as needed Financial Analysis & Reporting Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support decision-making for new projects, investments, and business initiatives Present actionable insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams Collaboration & Improvement Work closely with the finance team and other departments to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement Contribute to developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Certifications: QuickBooks or Xero certification (highly preferred) Experience: At least 2–3 years in a similar role, with hands-on budgeting and financial analysis experience Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS, HMRC regulations, and corporate tax laws Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills a plus Soft Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities Why Join Uproot Technologies?
