Head of Professional Conduct Contract : Permanent Hours : Part Time 21 hours per week (3-5 days a week) Salary : £60,920 starting salary p/a FTE, plus excellent benefits package Location : London, Farringdon, Hybrid working available We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Professional Development who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Institutions Code of Conduct, ensuring that members abide by the Code and developing a culture of ethical behaviour throughout the organisation. IStructE is a charity and the professional body for structural engineers. We have a global membership who have designed many of the worlds iconic structures, as well as many of the buildings and bridges we take almost for granted in our daily lives. Creating safer structures for the benefit of the public is at the heart of our remit. This includes environmental sustainability, with structural engineers and the Institution at the heart of the impact construction has on natural resources and climate change. The Role: This role will manage the Professional Conduct Department and will be the lead on matters relating to the Institutions professional conduct activities. The role is responsible for ensuring that members adhere to the established ethical standards and professional guidelines and will manage our most complex conduct cases. The Professional Conduct Manager will report into this role who in turn will manage a Professional Conduct Coordinator. To be shortlisted for this post, you must have: - Knowledge of legislation and regulations on governance (Charter status, Bye Laws, Regulations) relating to charities/not for profit organisations. - Knowledge and understanding of codes of conduct and disciplinary procedures in a professional context. - Experience managing and leading a direct report. - Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working in a membership organisation or/and understanding of the Engineering or Built Environment professions would be advantageous.
