Job Description

The purpose of the Account Manager role is to grow regional account revenue and margin across our sales channels. The role is responsible for growing regional account business in our branch's geographically defined area through customer retention, securing product range extensions, identifying margin growth opportunities, and by winning brand new business from prospect and lapsed customers. Key Responsibilities: Profitably growing sales volumes against personal targets and developing the number of trading customers. Improving customer retention by performing regular stability factor reviews and acting on any intelligence gained. Building a sales pipeline of new business and product range extension opportunities to ensure sustainable growth. Working with manufacturers, suppliers and internal product specialists to define and improve our customers business by reducing acquisition costs, improving production efficiency or reducing working capital. Support product and customer marketing campaigns designed to grow our business. Comply with commercial and operational policies in the performance of your duties. Key Stakeholders: Point of contact for our customers in the local area. Collaborate with back office functions, such as, but not limited to: credit control, building relationships with core suppliers, marketing, procurement and product managers. Liaise with the in house technical specialist suppliers as required. Competencies Required: Dynamic and energetic team player. Takes personal accountability and responsibility for delivering results. Customer centric, tenacious and outgoing - comfortable with extensive travelling and high levels of face to face customer interaction. Excellent presentation skills and ability to adapt behaviour to the situation, i.e. the boardroom and engineers. Experience of MRO, distributor businesses preferred but not essential. Numerate, literate and able to work with IT packages. Agile learner who is willing to work with change. Metrics & Measures: Achievement of financial targets. Achievement of targets for customer visits. Identification and delivery of customer approved cost savings. Identification and winning of new business from prospect customers.
