Ecosurety are looking for a confident, detail-orientated and proactive person to support the procuring of recycling evidence (PRNs) as part of a wider PRN buying team. The candidate must be able to manage the details of contracts, achieve results through building relationships with suppliers, plus create innovative solutions. A commercial background in developing relationships is essential for this role and knowledge of the waste/ environmental industry would be beneficial. We would expect the successful candidate to be on the road three out of five days a week, some of which will require nights away from home. The Supplier Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing new and managing existing relationships with key suppliers. The SRM role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and capable of fostering strong partnerships. The purpose of this role is to support the Procurement function to implement the company procurement strategy. PRNs are a volatile commodity market, so we require an individual with good commercial acumen, an ear to the ground in the waste industry, and the ability to build long-term working relationships with suppliers. The role will be mobile, with UK wide travel. Approximately 50% of the focus will be on our existing core supplier base and about 50% will be focused on securing new relationships. Job description Ability to visit, observe, analyse and report findings on each company visited Personable manner in order to uncover a suppliers ambitions and objectives Strong communicator comfortable with feeding back findings and analysis in a timely manner Comfortable with remote working and autonomous decision making PRN trading (Glass, plastic, paper, aluminium, steel, wood) in volatile markets, with trade values that are significant Buying within an agreed procurement plan Monitoring the markets and determining market sentiment via research and analysis Supporting the corporate drive for ethical transparent sourcing of PRNs Building strong supplier relationships and increasing our brand presence Comfortable with feeding back supplier performance through KPIs Ability to undertake audits with suppliers within agreed commercial boundaries Strong networking and comfortable attending conferences/trade shows? Person Specification Essential Commercial acumen, with experience of building long-term supplier relationships and closing deals Experience in a procurement role Able to use a calculated, analytical approach to solving problems Ability to negotiate and deliver difficult messages Ability to maintain control over quality and accuracy of data Ability to express scepticism when considering new information Highly mathematically and computer literate Able to achieve results by persuading others Willing to travel and stay away from home Open, inquisitive and able to progress issues to a resolution Desirable An understanding of recycling, evidence supply and Environment Agency rules The successful candidate must be well aligned with the Ecosurety Values Framework.
