Software Engineer (Python)

Contract: Software Engineer (python) Start Date: ASAP Location: Onsite 2-3 times a week in London Duration: 3 months Day Rate: £550 a day outside scope Reference: 18358 Ideally experience of working for a hedge fund We're looking for a Software Engineer to help design, build, and manage robust and scalable infrastructure systems. Key Responsibilities Design and implement infrastructure solutions leveraging modern automation tools and frameworks. Build, maintain, and optimize workflows for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and service orchestration. Develop and manage integrations using tools like Terraform , Ansible , GitLab , and Vault to ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure security. Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools and platforms, using Python and Golang to improve efficiency and reliability. Deploy and manage containerized applications with Podman and ensure smooth operations of infrastructure systems. Collaborate on the management and scaling of data center automation with tools like Ironic and Netbox . Design and implement workflows using Temporal to handle distributed applications and microservices orchestration. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure challenges, providing technical expertise and support. Stay current with infrastructure automation patterns and industry best practices. Qualifications Required Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python or Golang . Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) tools like Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible . Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, preferably GitLab . Understanding of containerization technologies like Podman or Docker. Strong understanding of infrastructure automation concepts and patterns. Knowledge of secure vaulting systems such as Vault for managing secrets and credentials. Preferred Skills: Experience with Ironic for bare-metal provisioning. Familiarity with network and infrastructure management tools like Netbox . Knowledge of Temporal for managing workflows in distributed systems. Understanding of infrastructure scaling and optimization in cloud or hybrid environments. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
