Job Title: Buyer Location: Exeter, UK Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per year (dependent on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their growing team based in Exeter. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in the procurement process, securing the best prices for construction products and materials while maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Source and procure materials at the most competitive prices. Measure and quantify material requirements as needed. Compare supplier quotes and analyze costs against budget allowances. Conduct research on products and explore alternative options. Communicate with internal teams to handle material requests via phone and email. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and inform site teams. Update and adjust site orders to prevent invoice discrepancies. Maintain organized records of communication and historical data. Manage stock lists, aiming to repurpose materials across projects where feasible. Collaborate with the accounts department to resolve invoice queries efficiently. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a Buyer role, preferably within the construction industry. Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong negotiation skills to secure the best prices. Analytical mindset and research capabilities to monitor market trends. Confidence in reporting directly to senior management.
