Role Overview We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating the night-time operations of our fleet, ensuring that all deliveries are planned, executed, and completed efficiently. Working on a 4 on 4 off schedule from 18:00 to 06:00, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Route Planning & Optimization: Develop cost-effective and time-efficient delivery schedules for our fleet. Driver Support: Provide instructions and support to drivers during their shifts, resolving any operational issues. Compliance Management: Ensure all transport activities adhere to UK regulations, including tachograph and driver hours rules. Customer Liaison: Maintain effective communication with customers, updating them on delivery statuses and addressing any concerns. Fleet Coordination: Monitor vehicle availability and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Problem-Solving: Proactively address challenges such as delays, breakdowns, and route changes. Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of schedules, performance metrics, and incidents. Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in transport planning, ideally within a general haulage or logistics environment. Strong understanding of UK road transport regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication skills to liaise with drivers, customers, and team members. Proficient in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
