Job Description
IT Business Analyst | 12 (3 9) Month Contract | (Outside IR35) | Hybrid (Edinburgh) | Starting ASAP Preference will be given to candidates based in Scotland Day Rate: DOE Overview: Harvey Nash's pub sec client is looking for an IT BA. The Enterprise Solutions team plays a critical role in the delivery of the client' strategic, operational and business efficiency and improvement aims, with many upcoming demands to design, develop and implement complex new digital and corporate solutions. The role will be responsible for leading the business analysis activities in new digital transformation application solution projects, including Witness Gateway, Defence Agent Service and Digital Evidence Sharing Capabilities. In particular the client is introducing Purview Sensitivity Labels and requires Business Analysts to support this initiative. Main Duties: Key deliverable will be to lead an impact assessment of all business processes and applications/systems that could potentially be affected by these labels are identified and addressed. Business Analysts will work closely with end-users to capture the processes they undertake and the applications they use, specifically focusing on when and where documents are opened, saved, or shared. They will also collaborate with various stakeholders, including the testing team and internal Business Analysts, to capture requirements and understand how different document types are handled and integrated within the system. Additionally, they will provide impact assessments for solution requirements to determine the impact of applying sensitivity labels The Business Analysts will support the project by ensuring that configuration settings are aligned with systems and tools. Their work is instrumental in understanding the business impact of introducing security classification labels, making necessary amendments in advance to reduce complexity, and ensuring a smooth transition to live rollout. Defining success criteria for your assigned projects, translating functional and non-functional requirements to produce acceptance criteria. Gathering, analysing and documenting solution requirements using appropriate business process models, use cases and providing both functional and technical expertise. Translating and communicating identified and documented business requirements via structured discussion between ISD's IT infrastructure and applications development professionals and with external technical and solutions suppliers Benefits management and realisation throughout the lifecycle of the project Essential Skills & Experience: Well-developed and proven analytical capabilities and demonstrable knowledge of applying appropriate IT business analysis methods/techniques to explore, define and deliver stakeholder requirements. Experience of leading or working in a medium to large technology change programme. Experience of owning and managing business requirements from inception to product delivery and the ability to deliver to time deadlines. Experience capturing and documenting requirements and use cases, business rules, requirements traceability, UML modelling, using storyboards. Proven experience using wire framing /prototyping tools. Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, interviewing, presentation skills and stakeholder management. Desirable Skills Appropriate professional qualifications, such as AGILE PRINCE2, Business Analysis and ITIL certifications. Good technical knowledge and understanding of integrated IT systems and software development life cycle is highly desirable. This role has been deemed Outside IR35 by the client.
